In 2003, NIHERST and CCST launched an initiative to address the archiving of our region's scientific heritage, through a series of publications on icons in Science, Technology and Innovation (STI).

The recently-published Caribbean Women in Science and Their Careers is the fifth publication in the series. This reference book documents and promotes public awareness of the contribution of Caribbean women in various science-based and technological disciplines and professions, including medicine, engineering, and the natural sciences.

It features 41 outstanding women from seven Caribbean countries including Antigua and Barbuda, The Bahamas, Barbados, Grenada, Jamaica, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, and Trinidad and Tobago.
