Survey of Environmental Awareness and Practices, 2008

NIHERST will be conducting a household survey on environmental awareness and practices during the period March/April, 2008.

The empirical results of this study are intended to provide a better understanding of the population's concerns, behaviour and practices with respect to the environment. The enquiry will focus on:

• Concerns about the eco-system and biodiversity

• Water consumption and conservation

• Waste disposal practices

• Transportation decisions

• Pesticide and fertiliser use

A representative sample of approximately 2,200 persons will be interviewed from the various administrative districts in Trinidad and Tobago. The data collected will be confidential and will be reproduced in tabular form only in a published report on this study’s findings.
