NIHERST participates in Tobago's 'Science is Fun' Expo !

NIHERST is participating in Tobago's first science expo hosted by the Division of Education, Youth Affairs and Sport .  The Expo will be held at Lowlands Mall from June 23rd to June 28th. Its objectives are as follows:

• To increase the science literacy of students and the general population of Tobago.

• To give students an opportunity to showcase their creativity and innovation in science and technology.

• To de-mystify science.

• To enable all persons to make connections between science and everyday life.

• To foster a desire in more young people to follow a career in science.

• To demonstrate that science is fun.

NIHERST will have on display many new and exciting exhibits from its recently concluded biennial science festival,
Sci-TechKnoFest 2008.  The theme of this year's festival was health and wellness.  Tobagonians will have the opportunity to explore some of the attractions from the festival.  They include models of major organs of the human body, activities on exercise and healthy eating for the under 7 age group, storytelling, creative science lab workshops, amazing science demonstrations, and hands-on activities in innovation involving the making and programming of robots.
