Children's Science Magazine - Issue # 6
“Iggy
at the Village Olympics”, the sixth issue of the NIHERST Children’s
Science Magazine, is now available. In this issue, Iggy the Iguana
introduces his friend Magnee, who persuades him to compete in the Village
Olympics. Magnee appoints himself Iggy’s official trainer for the
competition. For Iggy, training is about all about learning how to run fast.
It therefore takes a lot of effort on Magnee’s part to get Iggy to
understand that training is much more than that. It involves eating right,
resting, and taking good care of all parts of the body.
The NIHERST Science Magazine targets students in the
upper classes of the primary school system. It aims to help these students
recognize the importance of science and technology in their daily lives, as
well as to aid their understanding of concepts and topics in the science
curriculum.
“Iggy at the Village Olympics” is currently being
distributed free of charge to all primary school libraries and public
libraries in Trinidad and Tobago.
