The U.S. Embassy and National Institute of Higher Education,
Research, Science and Technology (NIHERST) are pleased to announce they are
accepting applications from sixth form students of science from the
St. George East and Victoria educational districts for
a full scholarship to the National Youth Science Camp (NYSC) in West
Virginia, United States.
On 23 November 2013, eighteen were honoured by NIHERST in
association with the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Caribbean
Academy of Sciences. These awards seek to recognise and reward nationals for
outstanding achievements in science and technology, to provide positive role
models for our youth to emulate, and to record our scientific heritage.
NIHERST is currently seeking suitably qualified persons for

The Prime Minister’s Awards for Scientific Ingenuity is a
biennial, competitive scheme that was introduced in 2000 to augment and
highlight the intrinsic creativity of the people of Trinidad and Tobago,
specifically in the realm of science and technology. It recognises and
rewards persons from all walks of life who demonstrate outstanding
accomplishments in this arena.
The National Institute of Higher
Education, Research, Science and Technology (NIHERST) conducted a
household survey on environmental awareness and practices during the period
April/May, 2013. This study was the second of its kind to be conducted by NIHERST as a similar study was undertaken in 2008.

and labour markets. Its aim is to provide policy guidance and solutions to support economic
